This study for a large-scale video painting installation examines the construct of contemporary society’s binary gender system. Judith Butler stressed that gender performatives are deeply embodied and lived. Part fabric painting, assemblage, video art and installation, Cincture allows for a phantasmic inquiry into the genealogical challenge of gender.
